Businesses are experiencing a global shift towards a Smarter Planet, one which is increasingly instrumented, interconnected and intelligent. Because of this, new threats and challenges from a security perspective are arising. The US and International Arena are faced with many new threats which could damage systems and infrastructure we rely on daily. According to the Congressional Research Service Study, the economic impact of these cyber attacks on business has grown to over $226 billion annually. Just as with other topical areas such as cloud there is confusion and debate about what Cyber actually is? Ms Rollet will share her insights in cyber security and data privacy, and how we IT professionals can prepare ourselves and our businesses to proactively seek opportunities in this arena.

About the speaker:
Ms. Rolett is the Senior Program Manager at IBM Global Business Services. In that capacity, she manages major public program accounts in the United States and overseas. She also serves as Senior Managing Consultant and has led consulting engagements in emerging markets as well as the US . She has done work in financial operations, federal government rules and regulations, performance management and strategic planning. Other highlights of Ms. Rolett's IBM career as her selection to the Corporate Service Corps on October 2009, and her works a Senior Financial Planner in GBS Finance where she had responsibility for accounts with the federal government totaling $117 million. Before joining IBM,Ms. Rolett worked for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and was a winner of a National Fellowship Competition to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
